Senior Research/Laboratory Technician
Shan Siddiqi is a Microbiology and Chemistry major from the University of Missouri - Columbia with minors in Medical Physics and Radioenvironmental Sciences. He had been a member of research teams in the past at Harvard Medical School (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute) and at the University of Missouri Medical School (Christopher Bond Life Sciences Center) before joining Dr. Jeffrey Phillips's group at University Hospital in June 2006 as a Senior Research/Laboratory Technician. His role primarily involves the incorporation of computer-aided healthcare techniques such as medical image processing and pH data analysis into the group's work.
He is involved in a variety of activities with the MARCI-kids team on both the research side and the clinical side, including (but not limited to) work related to the delivery and improvement of Zegerid, the process of perfecting mixtures that act as accessories to Zegerid, and the diagnosis of GERD in pediatric patients by use of the Bravo pH probe.
