Jane Burnett

Senior Research Specialist

Dr. Phillips is interested in a wide variety of research projects and Jane Burnett coordinates the laboratory experiments for his research. Jane Burnett is the chief laboratory scientist who analyses plasma samples for the quantification of lansoprazole levels used in the determination of the drug's half life. She also tests the stability of proton pump inhibitor drugs (PPI'S) in Chocobase and Caracream and is involved in the pH probe research.

Career and Personal History:

Jane Burnett has worked in the UMC School of Medicine for 19 years. For the first 16 years, she performed basic science research in the Pharmacology Department, and she joined Dr. Phillips's team over 2 years ago. She has expertise in HPLC (high pressure liquid chromatography), Gram stain, pH control experiments, biochemical and molecular biology research. Jane Burnett received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Textile Chemistry with a minor in Chemistry. As a mother of a 17 year old daughter, she appreciates the importance of improving health care for children.
